Communication sites were invaded by videos whose publishers claimed that they show a girl converting to Islam in Qatar, and that the preacher, Zakir Naik, met with Sheikh Saeed Al Kamali and other preachers, and it comes within the framework of rumors that are spreading in bulk.
In the context of a torrent of publications praising Qatar and what was considered the promotion of Islam during the World Cup, a video clip appeared on social networking sites that was said to document the conversion of a foreign girl to Islam during the World Cup.
However, the claim is incorrect and the video was filmed in the US state of Texas before the start of the 2022 World Cup.
The video, which appears to be filmed inside a mosque, shows two veiled girls wearing black cloaks, and a man’s voice is heard pronouncing the shahada, while one of them repeats behind him.
The publishers of the video commented, “A video of a girl converting to Islam at the World Cup in Qatar.”
The spread of this video came in conjunction with the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, amidst a lot of misleading news that talks about the Islam of fans who came to Qatar, and the news checking service in Agence France-Presse refuted some of them.
The video was used in a misleading context, as it was not filmed in Qatar, and it was possible to search for it through search engines to find it posted on an account on the “Tik Tok” site on November 8, that is, two weeks before the start of the World Cup competitions, which denies that it had relationship to the event.

Commenting on the video, the account holder said, “Praise be to God, we have a new sister in Islam,” with reference to the account of the newly converted Muslim girl, who also published the same video on the same date.
The video was filmed in an Islamic center in the US state of Texas, which includes a mosque called Al-Sabireen Mosque.
Thousands of entries were harvested by a video clip published by pages on social media, which said that it shows the Indian Islamic preacher, Zakir Naik, during his meeting with the Moroccan sheikh, Saeed Al-Kamali, and the Kuwaiti sheikh, Othman Al-Khamis, in Qatar before the start of the World Cup in Doha. But the claim is wrong and the clips circulated are old.
The circulating video shows three clips: the first depicts a meeting between the controversial Islamic preacher, Zakir Naik, and a Moroccan sheikh named Saeed Al-Kamali, and the second clip shows the Kuwaiti Salafist preacher, Othman Al-Khamis, among a group of young people in Gulf clothes, while the third clip depicts a meeting that brings together Zakir Naik. Othman Thursday.
The video publishers said that these preachers are currently meeting in Qatar, describing the scene as the “Islamic World Cup”.
However, the circulating video consists of old clips that have nothing to do with the World Cup finals organized in Qatar.
And it was possible to search for it using keywords to find it posted on YouTube years or months ago.
The first clip, in which the preacher Zakir Naik and Sheikh Saeed Al-Kamali appear shaking hands, was posted on YouTube in 2017.
And the second clip, in which Othman Al-Khamis appears among a group of young men, was found posted on YouTube last April, as it was from a visit to him in Qatar.
As for the third clip, it was published on the official YouTube channel of Sheikh Othman Al-Khamis six years ago, as it was from a meeting he had with the preacher Zakir Naik in Kuwait.
