We made preparations for a strike against Iran

Defense Minister in the outgoing Israeli government, Benny Gantz, said that his country had developed its ability to strike Iranian nuclear facilities significantly in recent years.

And he continued, at a graduation ceremony for pilots from a training course at Hatsrim Air Base in southern Israel, that his country is preparing for the possibility of launching an attack on Iran, according to the Times of Israel newspaper, today, Wednesday.

He also said in a message to the new pilots that some of them might take part in a possible strike on Iran.

We will not hesitate to exercise force

For his part, a government spokesman said, quoting outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, today, Wednesday, that any Israeli government will not accept Iran’s possession of nuclear weapons, stressing that his country will act if necessary.

And the spokesman, Ofir Gendelman, on his Twitter account, quoted Lapid as saying at a graduation ceremony for a new regiment of air force pilots, “Israel is stronger than all of its enemies. We will not hesitate to exercise force in order to preserve the safety of our citizens.”

These statements came a day after the Israeli Chief of Staff, Aviv Kochavi, confirmed that the Iranian nuclear weapon is the greatest potential threat regionally and globally.

And he said yesterday, Tuesday, according to what was reported by the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, “We are ready to implement any orders to confront Iran’s nuclear weapons.”

It is noteworthy that Israeli officials have repeatedly stressed that all their options are on the table to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Last August, Benny Gantz announced that his country should prepare for unilateral military action against Iran’s nuclear program.
