Today, Tuesday, the Egyptian Armed Forces announced that its naval forces would assume command of Joint Task Force 153, whose tasks are to combat smuggling and counter illegal activities, especially terrorist activities, in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab and Gulf of Aden regions.
The military spokesman said, on his official page on social media, that this comes within the framework of the efforts of the armed forces and in cooperation with the United States of America and brotherly and friendly countries to confront threats and challenges targeting the security and stability of the region.
