The wife of Mexico’s drug lord’s son, Ovidio Guzmán López, has emerged as the most powerful figure in the Salinoa Cartel, the most dangerous drug cartel in the world.
According to The Times of London, Adriana Meza Torres, who is believed to be in her early thirties, has established herself as the “queen” of Los Chapitos, a faction of the Sinaloa cartel.
Her husband, the son of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, who is imprisoned in the US, was captured after a violent battle earlier this month left 29 people dead, 10 of them Mexican soldiers.
Miza Torres flaunts her influence, as she now promotes herself on social media with the title “The President’s Wife”, and also brags about her wealth, holdings and properties through a series of posts and videos in the “Tik Tok” application.
Adriana’s family has a long history in the Sinaloa mafia, as her father is Raul Meza Ontiveros, known by the nom de guerre “LM6”, who was one of the important leaders in the cartel before he died in 2007.
Her brother, César Raúl, known as “El Mini M6”, met a similar fate as his father, who was killed in a shootout at the age of eighteen.
Adriana became famous in Mexico after her marriage to Ovidio Guzmán Lopez, known as “El Raton”, meaning the rat, and it is likely that he will be extradited to the United States, where he is expected to spend the rest of his life behind bars, as happened with his father.
