Sank in Lake Victoria .. Watch the crash of a Tanzanian plane

The Tanzanian state broadcaster announced that a plane belonging to the Tanzanian company “Precision Air” had crashed in Lake Victoria as it approached Bukoba airport.

And she added in a statement, Sunday, that the plane crashed after it failed to land at Tanzania Airport, when the flight was coming from the city of Dar es Salaam.

It also stated that 54 people were on board the crashed plane.

Rescue work has begun

Pictures of the wrecked plane almost submerged in the lake spread, while the Kagera district police chief, William Mwampagal, told reporters that the authorities managed to rescue a good number of passengers.

He revealed that the authorities had sent rescue boats and emergency workers to continue searching and rescuing the stranded survivors.

He also added that the plane was flying at an altitude of 100 meters, when it encountered problems and bad weather.

He pointed out that the weather was raining, which prompted the plane to fall into the water.

In addition, he stressed that everything is under control, and that rescue efforts are still continuing.

An invitation to calm

It is noteworthy that the Tanzanian President, Samia Hassan, had called for calm while the rescue operations continued.

“It is with sadness that I have received the news of the Precision Air crash,” she wrote on Twitter. “Let us calm down at this moment when the rescuers continue their mission while we pray to God to help us.”
