Green Olympic champion West Asian Cup

The Saudi under-23 football team was crowned the West Asian Federation Cup 2022, after its 3-1 victory over its Qatari counterpart in the final match, which brought the two teams together at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, on Tuesday.
The three goals of Al-Akhdar were scored by Ahmed Al-Ghamdi (9), Saad Al-Nasser (18) and Musab Al-Juwair (67), while the Qatari team scored by Diab Haroun (penalty kick 49).
It is the second tournament for the Olympic Greens, after winning the Asian Cup title in Uzbekistan last June.
Al-Akhdar exerted continuous pressure on Al-Annabi’s goal from the first whistle, and Ziyad Al-Juhani was close to opening the scoring after 3 minutes had passed, but he hit the outside net until Ahmed Al-Ghamdi managed to open the scoring with a powerful shot at the “9” minute, and the pressure of the Olympic team continued.
Muhammad Maran almost doubled the score after the goalkeeper was completely alone, who managed to block Maran’s attempt, before returning again with a pass inside the 18th area to his colleague Saad Al-Nasser, who managed to score the net with a left shot in the 18th minute.
With the passage of time, the Qatari players tried to enter the atmosphere of the match and share control with Al-Akhdar, and sought to reduce the difference, but their attempts collided with an organized defense, and their attacks did not pose the slightest danger to Abdul Rahman Al-Sanabi, Al-Akhdar goalkeeper, who finished the first half ahead with two clean goals.
With the start of the second half, the Qatari team got a penalty kick, which was awarded to the Lebanese Ali Al-Asmar, after a violation committed by Hussein Al-Sabiani, defender of Al-Akhdar, from which Al-Anabi scored the goal to reduce the difference in the 49th minute, but Musab Al-Juwair, the Al-Akhdar player, managed to restore the two-goal difference after scoring a goal from a free kick at The 67th minute, after which Al-Akhdar dominated the course of the match until the final whistle.
Saudi Arabia organized the tournament in Jeddah with the participation of 6 teams divided into two groups, and the Syrian team came in third place after defeating its Omani counterpart with a goal.
