The Jeddah Astronomical Society announced the observation of the conjunction of the moon with Jupiter, the giant of the solar system, in the sky of the Kingdom and the Arab world today, Friday, after sunset and the beginning of the night, where they will be separated by about two degrees in a beautiful view easily seen with the naked eye.
The association explained in a statement issued by it that this conjunction will occur and the moon will be in the phase of increasing humpback, which is the brightest spot in the night sky, pointing out that the presence of the moon near Jupiter is meant on the dome of the sky only, as they are not close to each other in space.

And the Jeddah astronomer added that during the night hours, all these bodies apparently move towards the west as a result of the Earth’s rotation on its axis, but the real movement of the moon is towards the east in relation to the stars.
She pointed out that “by observing the position of the moon at the same time every day, it is noticed that its movement is towards the east in relation to the stars and planets in the zodiac circle, so on the next day it will be noticed that the moon has moved away from Jupiter and rushes towards the east, which is its natural movement in its orbit around the Earth.”
